BIM Lead & Documenter – Commercial Workplace Interiors

As their portfolio grows, they are seeking a skilled BIM Lead & Documenter to drive BIM standards and documentation excellence across their commercial interior projects.

Reporting directly to the Design Director, the BIM Lead & Documenter will be responsible for leading BIM implementation and producing high-quality documentation packages. You will collaborate closely with project managers, designers, consultants, and clients to ensure seamless BIM workflows throughout all project stages.

This role will serve as the primary BIM expert and mentor, guiding internal teams on best practices while overseeing model coordination and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain BIM Execution Plans, templates, and firm-wide BIM standards.

Lead BIM workflows from concept design through construction documentation phases.

Define and implement digital coordination strategies and modelling protocols.

Manage BIM model production and quality assurance for commercial interior fit-outs.

Coordinate architectural and FF&E models to identify clashes and optimise spatial planning.

Prepare detailed construction documentation in Revit, including general arrangement plans, reflected ceiling plans, joinery, and construction details.

Ensure documentation accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project timelines and client expectations.

Mentor and train design teams on BIM software and standards, providing ongoing technical support.

Facilitate collaboration with external consultants, contractors, and clients on model exchanges and information requirements.

Lead BIM coordination meetings, ensuring timely integration of feedback into project models.

Monitor and implement emerging digital design technologies, tools, and plugins to enhance productivity and quality.

Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or interior design.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a BIM-focused role, preferably within commercial interior environments.

Expert proficiency in Revit; strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Enscape.

Strong understanding of interior fit-out construction methods, detailing, and documentation requirements.

Experience with IFC standards and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.

Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit) or similar accreditation is highly regarded.

Knowledge of parametric modelling tools such as Dynamo or scripting within Revit is advantageous.
