MARS Recruitment is partnering with an ASX-listed construction business to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity for a first mover from business services or audit looking to make the transition into industry. You'll be joining a dynamic and growing organisation, playing a key role in financial reporting, month-end processes, and driving ongoing improvements across the finance function.

The Responsibilities:

• Support the external audit process by preparing and providing relevant documentation and responses.
• Assist in resolving ad hoc financial reporting issues as they arise.
• Identify and implement process improvements across the financial reporting function.
• Collaborate with the FP&A Manager to enhance reporting processes and operational efficiency.
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of half-year and year-end statutory financial statements.
• Oversee the Accounts Payable function, offering guidance and resolving issues as needed.
• Set and manage response time targets for Accounts Payable queries.
• Prepare monthly BAS, PAYG Instalments, and FBT calculations in line with deadlines.
• Identify and drive process improvements within the tax compliance workflow.
• Mentor team members in the financial reporting team, offering support on technical accounting matters.

The Requirements:

• CPA/CA qualification.
• First Mover from Audit or Business Services.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Flex WFH: 2-3 days in the office per week.
• Great location - Easily accessible via public transport links.
• Requires full working rights in Australia.
