We are looking for an Operations & Project Officer to join our Business Transformation team. The preferred location is Canberra, but other GRDC locations will be considered. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who thrives on supporting teams and streamlining operations.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Transformation & IOM, this role provides critical administrative, logistics and project support for key business improvement projects and staff engagement events. You will play a pivotal role in business planning, event coordination, project tracking, and process improvement—contributing directly to the success of key corporate programs.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-level administrative support for business planning and across corporate projects and functions.

Maintain project plans, budgets, and registers.

Provide secretariat support for project meetings and working groups (including agendas, reports, minutes, and follow-up of issues).

Manage procurement processes for external project suppliers.

Coordinate and manage logistics of staff engagement events.

Draft and prepare general correspondence, presentations, submissions and reports with attention to detail and quality in layout and presentation.

Support continuous improvement through process and technology enhancements including contributing to development and improvement of processes and tools and application of new technology to improve the effectiveness of operational functions and project management.

Coordinate corporate business plan reports.

About you

2+ years’ experience in a similar role.

Experience or qualifications in project methodology, administrative management, or a related discipline would be highly regarded.

Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new systems and software.

Demonstrated capacity to contribute effectively as part of a team and work autonomously.

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities.

Exceptional organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise tasks and perform effectively under pressure.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across diverse teams and organisations.

Demonstrated ability in influencing positive outcomes.

A proactive mindset with a strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

A high degree of resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
