Details: The Pharmaceutical Services Section has both statutory and non-statutory responsibilities to promote the safe use of medicines within the ACT community. These responsibilities are outlined under the Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 2008 and the Public Health Act 1997. The section regulates the prescribing and supply of controlled medicines in the ACT to minimise the risks associated with their abuse, misuse, and diversion. This includes assessing applications from prescribers for approval to prescribe controlled medicines and monitoring supplies from pharmacies.
Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of the Real Time Prescription Monitoring (RTPM) project, the Project Support Officer will work with the project and operations teams to progress the implementation of the Canberra Script change and adoption strategy, and fulfil any related project activities, to support the successful implementation and use of Canberra Script. You will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and you must have strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to follow procedures, and confidence in working within a high-performing team.

Our workforce currently operates in a hybrid model, working from the Health Protection Service at Mulley Street in Holder and remote work up to 2 days per week. The successful candidate will be provided information about the hybrid format, including how to work from home safely and effectively.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Previous experience in ICT projects is desirable.
- Qualifications related to project management or change management are desirable.
- Previous experience in the healthcare industry is desirable.
Notes: This is a temporary project position available from 10 August 2025 till 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension for additional tenure, subject to project requirements and funding availability and/or permanency.
