About the Role
This is a full-time role in the Intake team, delivering recovery-oriented mental health services. You'll be a key player in screening and assessing referrals, ensuring individuals are linked to the right care.
In addition to their Intake responsibilities, clinicians in this role also support staff working with consumers who have complex care needs, providing guidance and training to enhance the team's skills and ensure high-quality, collaborative care. They may also offer leave cover for a limited number of consumers to maintain service consistency during staff absences. Also, the intake team shares responsibility for the duty function, providing support to consumers when their key clinicians are unavailable due to personal leave or other absences.
We foster a culture of kindness, collaboration, and open communication and seek a clinician who embodies these values while enhancing service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and screen referrals, determining the most appropriate and timely care pathways
• Provide assessments and immediate support for individuals accessing the service
• Coordinate care and advocate for consumers and families across services
• Maintain compliance with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and relevant legislation
• Offer leadership, support, and mentorship to peers and junior staff
• Contribute to a strong team culture and continuous service improvement
• Provide supervision to students and early-career clinicians
Discipline-Specific Requirements
To be considered, you must meet the following requirements relevant to your profession:
• Registered Psychiatric Nurses: Registered with AHPRA, with a relevant mental health nursing qualification. Minimum 5 years' experience in public mental health
• Occupational Therapists: Registered with AHPRA and holding a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification. Minimum 5 years' experience in mental health
• Social Workers: Approved degree in Social Work and eligible for AASW membership. Minimum 7 years' experience in mental health
What You'll Bring
• Deep understanding of mental health legislation and recovery-oriented care
• Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse consumers and their families
• Experience mentoring and supporting other clinicians and students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A collaborative, thoughtful approach to team and service development
If this sounds like the right next step in your mental health career, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now and be part of a team delivering thoughtful, high-quality care to the community.
