Are you a skilled Mental Health Clinician with a passion for working with children, adolescents, and families? Medacs Healthcare is seeking experienced professionals for locum travel contracts across regional and remote Australia, with opportunities in Community Case Management, Acute Care Teams, and Emergency Department/Triage settings within CYMHS/CAMHS services.
About the Role:
We are seeking qualified Mental Health Clinicians-Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Nurses, and Occupational Therapists-for short- to medium-term contracts supporting Child and Youth Mental Health Services. You'll work closely with local health teams to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to young people and their families, while enjoying the opportunity to travel, grow professionally, and receive competitive compensation with accommodation support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate mental health care to children and adolescents
- Conduct mental health assessments, develop individualised care plans, and provide therapeutic interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, community organisations, and support services
- Respond to crises and manage complex presentations in youth mental health
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support and educate families around mental health and wellbeing
Specialty Areas Available:
- Community Case Management - Outreach, recovery-focused care, and long-term support for young people
- Acute Care Teams (ACT) - Short-term intensive support and crisis intervention for children and adolescents
- ED/Triage - Frontline mental health assessments in emergency settings for youth presentations
Requirements to apply
- Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, or a related field.
- Current Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Child and Youth mental health (CYMHS/CAMHS), ideally in community or acute settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to new environments
