A fantastic career opportunity has arisen to join one of Australia's most prominent Property Development groups. This established organisation is known for its expansive portfolion and legacy in Australia retail.

The role is joining a high calibre team as a Property Accountant, based in their North Sydney office. You will play a key part in the financial management and reporting for their retail portfolio, supporting the wider accounting and finance function.

What you'll be doing

Perform daily bank reconciliations and cashflow management

Manage accounts payable and receivable

Reconciliation of intercompany balances

Manage and reconcile the Fixed Asset registers

Month end closing activities including the processing of monthly journals

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances

Preparation of monthly and quarterly Business Activity Statements

Assist with the preparation of FBT Returns

Preparation of monthly accounts and month end reporting

Prepare annual workpaper files for year end financial reports and income tax returns

Work closely with the finance team, development team and external stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations

Provide analytical support and ad-hoc reporting as required

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance

CA or CPA certification or working towards qualification

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property development or a related industry

Strong technical accounting skills, with experience in property-specific accounting principles

Proficiency in accounting software MRI and XERO

Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law including (but not limited to) Income Tax, GST and FBT

Strong knowledge of investment structures and the tax implications of each

Proficiency with financial reporting and analysis, including the use of spreadsheets

Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment

Excellent attention to detail and flexible mindset

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively as part of a team
