Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and execution of the organisation’s operational risk and compliance framework, ensuring it aligns with business goals and regulatory obligations.
• Collaborate across departments to interpret regulatory changes, implement appropriate controls, and oversee testing and reporting activities.
• Guide the development and maintenance of risk registers, compliance policies, and internal training programs to embed a strong risk-aware culture.
• Conduct risk assessments, incident reviews, and internal audits, providing recommendations and updates to executive leadership and the board.
• Build and lead a high-performing team, while maintaining strong relationships with regulators and external auditors.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Min.10 years’ experience in operational risk and or compliance with a strong grasp of control frameworks and risk assessment practices (in Australia)
• Knowledge in credit lending/consumer credit is an added advantage
• Enjoys being in a greenfield environment
• Solid understanding of Australian regulatory bodies and standards, including ASIC, OAIC, AUSTRAC, and ACCC
• Skilled in managing and mentoring high-performing teams, with a track record of influencing across business functions
• Confident communicator with the ability to present complex risk matters clearly to senior leadership and board members
