Mars Recruitment is working with a prestigious financial organisation to appoint a senior leader within its Technology and Cyber Risk function. In this key leadership role, you will head a specialised team focused on developing and implementing robust frameworks, standards, and tools to strengthen business ownership of cyber, technology, and data risks. You will provide independent oversight and strategic challenge, supporting risk-informed decision-making and driving continuous improvement across critical digital risk domains.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of technology, cyber, and data risk oversight frameworks.

Provide independent assurance and challenge of Line 1 risk management activities across cyber security, IT operations, data governance, and third-party risk.

Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver strategic risk insights that inform priorities and investments.

Drive innovation in risk oversight processes and tools, incorporating emerging industry trends and technologies.

Develop integrated assurance plans in partnership with risk, audit, and business teams.

Monitor regulatory and industry requirements to ensure compliance and contribute to uplift initiatives, including CPS 234 and CPS 230.

Lead, mentor, and develop a small, high-performing team of risk professionals.

Key Requirements:

15+ years' experience in cyber, technology, or operational risk management, with significant exposure to Line 2 oversight or assurance functions.

Proven expertise in designing and operationalising risk oversight frameworks, methodologies, and tools.

Strong understanding of cyber security, IT risk, data governance, and third-party risk management.

Track record of influencing senior leaders and embedding risk-aware culture within complex organisations.

Experienced people leader with a passion for developing teams and driving continuous improvement.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk, compliance, IT, cybersecurity, or related disciplines (or equivalent experience).
