We are seeking a Trades Assistant to work in the Electronic Trades industry alongside our team of Technicians in Townsville. Our company specialises in installing and maintaining industrial Data Networks, CCTV and Access Control Systems within the Government, Mining and Commercial sectors.

This position offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced tradespeople in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with a range of tasks, including:

Site Preparation and Maintenance: Keeping the work area clean, organised, and safe. This includes removing debris, preparing surfaces, and ensuring tools and equipment are readily available.

Material Handling: Assisting with the loading, unloading, and movement of materials, ensuring they are stored and handled correctly.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Assisting with the operation of basic machinery and power tools, as well as maintaining their cleanliness and functionality.

General Labor: Assisting with a variety of tasks as directed by the tradesperson, including drilling, cutting, and other manual labour duties.

Following Instructions: Adhering to safety procedures and following instructions from supervisors and tradespeople to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

Skills and Experience Required:

Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual labour tasks and handle materials.

Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination for using tools and equipment.

Basic Knowledge of Tools and Equipment: Understanding of common hand and power tools.

Safety Awareness: Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.

Communication Skills: Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

Construction Induction Card (White Card): A valid White Card is required for working on construction sites. If you don't have one, you can obtain it through a short course with a Registered Training Organisation.

Reliability and Punctuality: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.

Additional Skills: Applicants with additional skills like Working at Heights, High Risk Work Licences and First Aid will be highly regarded.
