The Role
The Operations Manager will be responsible for optimising the operational efficiency and scalability of our client’s fast-paced, collaborative, and client-centric marketing agency. This role will drive significant improvements in team management, workflow efficiency, and project delivery, ultimately enhancing profitability and preparing the agency for strategic growth.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and empower the team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Implement effective resource allocation strategies to maximize team utilisation and morale.
Design, implement, and optimise agency-wide processes and workflows to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce bottlenecks, and improve overall productivity. This includes defining clear project lifecycles, communication protocols, and quality control measures.
Establish and enforce robust project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Provide guidance and support to project teams, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions as needed.
Identify, evaluate, and manage key operational vendors and technology solutions. Oversee the implementation and optimisation of new tools to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Collaborate with leadership on operational budgeting and cost control.
Develop and implement internal and client-facing reporting mechanisms to provide clear, actionable insights into project profitability, team performance, and operational health.
Actively contribute to strategic planning for agency growth, ensuring operational infrastructure and processes are designed to support increased volume and complexity without sacrificing quality or profitability.
What we’re looking for
Senior-level experience (5+ years) in operations management or similar leadership role, preferably within a marketing agency, creative agency, or professional services environment.
Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, project management, and team performance in a dynamic environment.
Experience with financial oversight related to operations (e.g., project profitability analysis, budgeting).
Familiarity with Teamwork Project Management (or similar robust PM software like Asana, Monday.com, ClickUp) and Xero (or similar accounting software like QuickBooks Online) is highly beneficial.
An understanding of, or experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is preferrable.
