About the role

The Trades Person role at R Moore & Sons plays a vital function in our operations by supporting the refurbishment and regeneration of various mechanical components, restoring them to optimal working condition and ensuring precision and quality throughout the regeneration process.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trades Person to operate and maintain our manual and CNC machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining processes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & experience

Trade Certificate 3 in Mechanical Engineering / Fitter Machinist (Relevant experience in machining considered)

Experience in Vertical Borer CNC machines (Rottler machine experience desirable)

Milling Machines- Manual & CNC

Experience with Heidenhain, Mazatrol, Siemens controls is desirable

Strong OH&S accountability.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to change quickly.

Proven planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity.

Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as you will be in daily liaison with internal stakeholders.

Tasks & responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on engineering machine tools equipment.

Machining as required for re-manufacturing of parts & components

Operating Manual Lathe/Milling Machinery

Modifications to equipment/parts where necessary

Visually check measuring equipment and report any equipment requiring repair or re-calibration

Ability to achieve tight tolerances

Thorough and meticulous completion of all maintenance records and documentation

Interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and efficiency.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings

Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to create a safe work environment.
