About the Role
The primary purpose of the position of the Mechanical Technician (Diesel Mechanic) is to undertake scheduled maintenance and repairs of fire appliances and ancillary equipment.
This position also involves working collaboratively on turnkey projects with other departments within the organisation.
Additionally, the Mechanical Technician will carry out emergency field service repairs on fire-ground to support Operations and ensure Occupational Health and Safety Standard is adhered to at workplace including emergency fire-ground location.
Key Responsibilities
Negoiate, liaise and source spare parts with vendors/suppliers
Undertake specialist servicing and repairs on a variety of fire appliances and ancillary equipment
Undertake vehicle assessments including road testing.Undertake vehicle assessments including road testing
Ensure compliance with OHS/WHS standards
Attend daily pre-starts/toolbox meetings, and promote a safety-first culture
Liaise and source for spare parts with vendors/suppliers
Contribute to workshop team meets and collaborations
What We’re Looking For
Diesel Mechanic Trade Qualification (compulsory)
Current Victorian HR Driver's License (compulsory)
