Our client, a large Government Department, is looking for 2x Senior Java Developers to join their team.

In this role you will perform the following tasks but not limited to:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain complex Java-based applications in line with departmental standards and enterprise architecture.
• Collaborate with analysts, testers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions and resolve production issues.
• Develop and maintain system components, including coding, unit testing, database design, and documentation.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architectural input, and mentoring of junior developers.
• Estimate development effort, manage defects, and report on project status within agile development teams.

To be successful you must have the following skills / experiences:

• Advanced Software Development & Design (SFIA Level 5): Demonstrated expertise in Java (8+), Spring Boot, J2EE, EJB3, JPA (Hibernate), SOAP/Web Services, and modern front-end frameworks like ReactJS. Proven capability in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale enterprise systems aligned with security and software construction standards.
• Methods, Tools & Configuration Management (SFIA Level 5): Skilled in selecting and applying appropriate software development methods, tools, and configuration management techniques. Experienced in contributing to and implementing organisational standards, conducting reviews, and driving continuous improvements across development teams.
• Release, Deployment & Change Management (SFIA Level 5): Leads release planning, deployment execution, and post-release reviews. Manages release risks, rollback procedures, and communicates progress to stakeholders. Strong understanding of ICT change management and integration of automation tools.
• Systems & Solution Architecture (SFIA Level 5): Designs large-scale systems that balance functional and non-functional requirements. Evaluates and selects system design methodologies and tools, performs impact analysis, and contributes to architectural standards and risk assessments.
• Agile Delivery & Integration Practices: Deep knowledge of SDLC and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including CI/CD pipelines, RESTful integration, and systems interoperability. Exposure to Oracle, SQL, and cloud-native environments, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.
