We are seeking an experienced and driven Transshipment Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of our transshipment operations. This role is responsible for overseeing barge loading, tug and barge movements, stevedoring, and pilotage activities, while ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine logistics and operational leadership, with a focus on continuous improvement, contractor management, and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all transshipment operations, including barge loading, tug and barge movements, stevedoring, and pilotage.

Coordinate and monitor operational schedules to ensure efficiency and timeliness.

Ensure equipment and vessels are maintained and operational in coordination with contractors.

Track and report on operational KPIs, including loading rates, turnaround times, and demurrage.

Ensure full compliance with marine safety and environmental regulations.

Promote a strong safety culture in line with company HSEQ policies.

Manage service providers and maintain strong relationships with contractors and regulatory stakeholders.

Oversee operational budgets and cost controls.

Support contract negotiation and performance reviews.

Identify opportunities for operational improvement and contribute to long-term strategic planning.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

Tertiary qualification in Marine Operations, Maritime Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

5–10 years’ experience in marine or port operations, ideally within bulk transshipment or offshore logistics.

Strong understanding of tug and barge operations, stevedoring, and pilotage.

Proven track record in contractor and stakeholder management.

Solid knowledge of HSEQ practices and Australian maritime regulations.

Desirable:

Master Class or equivalent marine officer qualification.

Experience in iron ore or bulk commodity transshipment.

Commercial experience with budget and cost management.
