Report to the Financial Controller

Our client is an established business with a long track record of stability, success and profitability. An exciting position exists for an experienced accountant to oversee month end, tax compliance. complete reconciliations and assist with the preparation of management reports, budgets and forecasts.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the month-end close process, including preparing journals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis

Maintaining GL integrity and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies

Supporting the FC with preparing monthly management reports, board reporting, annual budgets and financial forecasts

Ensuring robust quality control over financial transactions, reconciliations and reporting outputs

Ensuring compliance with all statutory tax obligations, including BAS, FBT, Workers Compensation and provide information to external accountants for year-end returns.

Liaising with external tax advisors and auditors to facilitate timely lodgement and audit readiness.

Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of GST and payroll tax across all relevant jurisdictions

Ensuring accurate posting and maintenance of assets in the assets register

Reconciliation of assets and leases for the group

Maintaining lease schedules

Supporting new Asset Management software rollout

Our ideal candidate will be mimimum degree qualified with at least 3 years commerical experience within a large entity, and a sound knowledge of accounting principles. Your previous experience in retail, wholesale, manfacturing or construction will be a distinct advantage. You should have intermediate to advanced proficiency on Excel

There will be flexbility to WFH 1-2 days per week, following an initial settling in period. The position location would suit some based on the southern end of the Gold Coast or far northern NSW.
