About the Role
As our Financial Accountant, you’ll take the lead in statutory financial reporting, monthly reconciliations, asset accounting and taxation playing a critical role in shaping how we manage and report on the City’s financial performance.
This role isn’t about ticking boxes it’s about helping us make informed, responsible financial decisions that shape our city’s future. You’ll work across departments, support our audit process, and be the go-to expert when it comes to interpreting accounting standards and ensuring compliance.
About You
You’re a forward-thinking and detail-oriented finance professional who brings:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce (essential)
- Experience in financial accounting — ideally within local government or a highly regulated environment
- A keen eye for balance sheet reconciliations, BAS, FBT and asset management processes
- Strong working knowledge of accounting standards and statutory requirements
- Proficiency in finance systems and data integrity
- CA/CPA qualification (or working toward)
