Position Overview:
We need someone who can handle all aspects of TSS’s financial operations with reliability and accuracy. You’ll be responsible for managing payroll tax returns, BAS lodgements, P&L reports, cash flow analysis, invoicing, and accounts reconciliation. Beyond just the numbers, we need someone who can engage with the leadership team in a practical, operational way.

You will be able to discuss financial matters in clear, down-to-earth terms and offer insights that drive decisions. This role will ensure that our financial processes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and lodge payroll tax returns across various states and interface with the payroll team to ensure coordination on financial matters.

Prepare and lodge BAS returns regularly, ensuring compliance with Australian tax regulations and accounting standards.

Conduct cash flow analysis and provide financial insights to the leadership team in a straightforward, actionable manner.

Oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Reconcile RCTI (Recipient Created Tax Invoices) to ensure correct payments and accurate financial records.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L (Profit and Loss) reports, keeping the leadership team informed of the company’s financial health.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA qualification preferred).

Proven experience (3+ years) in accounting or financial analysis, with a solid understanding of Australian taxation, payroll tax, BAS, and RCTI.

Ability to manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and perform reconciliations.

Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to provide reliable financial insights.

Comfortable engaging operationally with the leadership team and offering financial advice in clear, practical terms.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a small team environment.

Availability to work 20 - 25 hours per week.

Previous experience in medium sized business is a bonus but not essential.
