About the Role
The City of Ryde has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer experienced in the design of civil infrastructure and related projects to join our team based at North Ryde.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality civil designs across all project phases-from concept through to final documentation-ensuring they meet site needs, objectives, legislative requirements, environmental considerations, and budget constraints.
You will play a key role in shaping infrastructure for City of Ryde by preparing comprehensive design documentation, supporting cost estimates, risk assessments, and ensuring safety in design. You will also contribute to fieldwork activities such as inspections, data collection, and stormwater drainage analysis using tools like DRAINS.
About You
You are a driven and detail-oriented civil engineering professional with proven experience in preparation of design documentation and cost estimates for multi-disciplinary projects including roads, stormwater, footpath, traffic facilities, cycleways, and other civil assets.
In addition, you will also have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia. Student engineers who have maximum 6 months left to graduation may also apply
- High level professional and technical design skills including problem-solving, project costing and budgeting skills.
- Sound written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical staff/stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent computer skills and proven experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D/12D and Drains.
- Excellent knowledge of legislation, regulations, design standards, and code of practice relating to the design, construction, and management of civil based project.
- Class C Driver's Licence.
- Current WH&S Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
Your commencing annual salary will range from $91,245.60 to $118, 619.28 + Superannuation + Civil Liability Allowance dependent on your experience and qualifications.
