Protech are looking for an experienced Mechanical Mining Engineer for our client located in Tomago on a temp to perm basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a technically strong, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in fieldwork, enjoys hands-on problem solving, and works well within a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct on-site inspections, installations, and repairs of hose assemblies

Perform failure analysis of hoses and fittings to ensure optimal performance

Interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics

Ensure materials compatibility and adherence to engineering standards

Collaborate with teams to support mining equipment and systems using hose assemblies

TICKETS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

Strong knowledge of hydraulic and industrial hose systems

Familiarity with fittings, adaptors, clamps, quick couplings, etc.

Experience with fluid transfer systems and pressure ratings

Understanding of mining equipment and hose assembly applications

Familiar with ISO/SAE hose standards

Willing and able to travel to mine sites in a company vehicle

Holds a valid Australian driver's licence (manual preferred)

Comfortable working in remote and harsh environment

Knowledge of mine safety protocols and PPE requirements

Has worked as a mechanical engineer on a mine site or visited the mine site perform work via third party company.
