An opportunity to join the team at Normet is available for an experienced Field Service Technician / HD Mechanic to join our supportive and friendly team in our Sydney branch based at Wetherill Park.

In this role, you’ll carry out on-site work throughout Greater Sydney, commissioning, servicing, and repairing Normets and clients' underground machines. This role also offers the opportunity to participate in project work throughout Southeastern Australia, on projects nationally and internationally in the future.

This is primarily a Field Service role but when not required on site, you will be based at our workshop in Wetherill Park.

Competitive hourly rate between $60 - $63 per hour, flat rate for all hours worked, plus super

Superannuation paid on all hours worked

To shine in this position, you will need

Experience in modification and repairs of heavy mobile equipment is essential

Certificate III Fitter or equivalent (Mechanical/Diesel/Transport/Agricultural) with a minimum of 3 years industry experience

Willing and able to work between 38 and 60 hours per week, with the flexibility to undertake project assignments across Southeastern Australia, and potentially on national and international projects in the future.

Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with a high level of problem solving and diagnostic skills

Ability to read CAD engineer drawings, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics.

Previous underground experience is highly desirable

Drivers license is essential along with full working rights in Australia.

The successful candidate must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance before commencement.

Responsibilities

Conducting on-site commissioning, servicing and repairs of Normets and Clients underground machines:

Modification and/or repair of vehicle systems including: chassis’, drivelines, engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics

Manufacturing and fitting of electrical and mechanical components

Testing and adjusting of all mechanical hydraulics, circuits and pneumatic components

Fault finding, repairing, replacing, and providing technical advice

Inspection, analysis and recording critical mechanical information during the process of undertaking mechanical refurbishment work

All work to be performed safely and at a level of quality acceptable to both Normet and customer expectation.
