Laboratory Technician

Thursday - Monday Position

Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 Per Year + Super

The Role

We currently have a vacancy for a Laboratory Technician at our Tongala facility located in northern Victoria. This facility, which has completed a major expansion, has been in operation for over 25 years and processes large numbers of cattle, much of which is destined for export markets.

Your role includes but not limited to:

undertake microbial sampling across site and testing,

media preparation and general laboratory duties,

accurately maintain detailed record keeping,

liaise with regulators and Company management,

be committed to further development and study,

Preparing internal reports

other laboratory duties as requested.

You will have

Tertiary qualified in a discipline such as Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Applied Science / Food Science / and/or Meat Science, majoring in Microbiology, is preferred but not mandatory.

Candidates with suitable equivalent qualifications or no qualifications but have significant industry experience will also be considered.

This role will suit a highly motivated candidate who thrives on variety, has great attention to detail combined with excellent communication and time management skills, who gains satisfaction from getting things done right, first time. The ability to work autonomously and flexibly (shiftwork) is required as part of a small laboratory team. Competent operation of MS Office applications (Word, Access and Excel) is preferred.
