About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has become available to be part of the Catering team at Spendelove Private Hospital.

The Chef plays a significant role in at Spendelove Private hospital, by providing delicious and nutritious meals. The chef will prepares appetizing and well-balanced meals while fostering positive contribute to the overall health and well-being of our patients. The Chef prepares all the meals for our patient's an supervise the Catering team while on duty.

Your primary functions will be:

Meal Preparation: Responsible for preparing Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. meals according to the menus designed by the Manager. Ensure that the meals are nutritious, appealing, and meet the specific dietary needs of individual patients. Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes, ensuring that they meet high standards in taste, appearance, and portion sizes. Experience working in a bulk catering role in healthcare environment. Ensure that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilising seasonal produce

Special Diets: Accommodate special dietary requirements, such as texture-modified diets, to cater to the unique health conditions and preferences of our patients. Ensure any special patients dietary requirements are adhere to. (e.g. diabetes, weight loss or gain Gluten Free and any other diet reequipments)

Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. Knowledge and adherence to Work Health and Safety guidelines.

Manage safe and correct processes in ,storage, handling, and preparation.

infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies.

Complete paperwork promptly and correctly as per duty List.

Skills & Experience

Certificate III or IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery).

Adaptable, passionate, and willing to learn.

Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.

Friendly and effective communication abilities.

Competent in food preparation, plating and serving.

Safe food handling practices and knowledge of HACCP.

Excellent and prompt food service/post-meal time cleaning skills.

Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.

Personal specification

Calm manner and copes well under pressure.

Sound work ethic

A flexible and adaptable work approach.

Always show professionalism and a commitment to the Hospital.

Able to maintain a team environment.

Excellent organisation skills.

Quick thinking.

Must be vaccinated against Covid-19, a vaccine approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation

Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months.
