The office of Jodie Belyea MP is seeking applications for an ongoing, full-time Communication, Events and Constituent Officer (EOB2) position to join the team based in the Member’s Electorate office in Frankston, Victoria.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual, capable of supporting the development and delivery of a communications strategy including digital and print media. They have previous experience with developing and implementing a communication and social media strategy for an organisation or business; and parliamentary or electorate engagement experience, including an ability to support organisations and constituents to address issues relating to federal government services, programs and departments and obtain relevant support.
The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
· Establishing and delivering communications with direction from the MP, Adviser or Office Manager, this will include a specific plan and targets on how to establish an engaging brand and build the Member’s followers.
· Establishing and delivering a social media workplan including a bank of posts for all platforms planned in advance in consultation that reflects the communication strategy.
· Creating engaging organic and policy posts on social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram and Linked In.
· Creating unique content including imagery and video for social media and other platforms.
· Monitoring and moderating social media, news and press announcements.
· Providing a monthly social media analysis on growth and opportunities to refine the Member’s strategy.
· Writing video scripts for short videos.
· Editing videos of the Members speeches and uploading to YouTube and DropBox.
· Updating the MPs website and pages including – articles, policy, media releases and grants page.
· Drafting content for press releases, mass emails and print communications, including a quarterly newsletter, with support from the Adviser and MP.
· Designing and distributing mass emails to the electorate promoting events and activities.
· Designing electorate office marketing materials such as: DLs, seniors booklet, educational materials and newsletters using graphic design platforms such as Canva and Adobe Suite.
· Managing Mailchimp subscription packages, content, and maintaining the databases to add new or remove contacts.
· Supporting and attending community and electorate activities with the Member.
· Electorate office duties including supporting constituents to address issues, supporting referrals and preparing correspondence.
Qualifications:
· Relevant Qualifications in Media & Communications, Graphic Design, Media, Journalism, and/or Humanities.
