DM Civil is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated HSEQ Advisor with civil construction experience to join our team. Being a communications champion, this role will involve site and administrative responsibilities across the greater metro area.
Your hands-on and relatable approach will ensure best practice in all matters of HSEQ including site advising and stakeholder engagement, risk assessments, workforce learning and mentoring, audits, reporting and compliance with our Integrated Management Systems and client requirements.
You will be based at our Maddington office and be expected to travel to our various metro and country project sites, for 3-4 days per week. A fully maintained company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
To be successful in this position, you will:
Hold a minimum Cert IV in WHS. Cert IV in Training & Assessment, Environmental and internal auditing qualifications would be advantageous,
Must have at least 3 years' experience as a HSEQ Advisor, preferably on civil construction sites,
Articulate competence in HSEQ systems and process management in order to analyse HSE data to track performance and identify areas for improvement,
Can demonstrate experience in the preparation of management plans, risk assessments, SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements), and JSA's,
Can demonstrate experience in the preparation of incident reports, root cause analysis, and tool box topics,
Provide examples of communicating effectively with Field leadership and site crews,
Have a White Card, Water Corporation Induction (desirable), Tap Root and ICAM experience.
Having First Aid, Mental Health, WAH, Confined Space, and Gas Testing would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities include:
Partnering with our site crews to ensure all workers understand and embrace the importance of health, wellbeing and safety systems,
Sharing your technical knowledge and researching HSEQ issues to support safe construction practices,
Assessing compliance with company and client systems and expectations,
Monitoring, investigating and recording workplace incidents,
Communicating and consulting with workers to encourage and enforce a safe and healthy workplace culture,
Regularly conducting workplace inspections to identify any opportunities for improvement.
