About the Organisation
This membership body organisation is one of Australia’s most respected and progressive voices on the issues that matter—climate change, economic fairness, and democratic reform. With a strong national profile and an engaged supporter base, they lead public debate through bold research and advocacy.
Now, they’re investing in smarter marketing. With growing digital reach and ambitious fundraising goals, they’re building their first in-house marketing insights function to better understand what drives engagement—and where the next opportunity lies.
About the Role
This newly created position puts marketing and supporter data at the heart of strategic decision-making.
As Data Analyst – Marketing, you’ll help shape how this purpose-driven organisation attracts, engages, and retains its supporters. You’ll be the go-to for uncovering what messages are landing, which channels are converting, and how to boost the ROI of campaigns across email, social, petitions, events, and fundraising appeals.
Working closely with the campaigns and communications teams, you’ll bring evidence into the creative process—from segmenting audiences to tracking the supporter journey, and delivering recommendations that elevate marketing impact.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially aware marketing analyst or digital strategist who wants to make a real difference in the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and analyse campaign and engagement performance
- Develop dashboards and reports that inform strategy
- Segment audiences using behavioural and demographic data
- Forecast trends and model donor/supporter engagement
- Analyse qualitative feedback to uncover supporter motivations
- Build internal capability around data use and storytelling
What We’re Looking For
You’re curious and commercially minded, with experience using data in marketing or digital engagement settings. You enjoy solving problems, exploring patterns, and helping teams understand what’s working (and what’s not).
You’re just as comfortable building a dashboard as you are explaining it to a non-technical team—and you get energy from being part of a purpose-driven organisation doing meaningful work.
You’ll Bring
- Experience working with marketing or campaign performance data
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, NationBuilder, email and social media tools
- Strong data visualisation and reporting skills
- Confidence working with both quantitative and qualitative data
- A clear and engaging communication style
- A collaborative, low-ego approach
Ready to apply?
This role is available 0.6 to 1.0 FTE and is based at their Canberra office, with flexibility to work from home part of the week.
If you’re excited by the opportunity to bring data into the heart of progressive policy change, we’d love to hear from you.
