About the Role
Leo’s Place is currently seeking casual support workers to provide standby support and care to guests staying at Leo’s Place — a home-like, non-clinical environment for individuals with low to medium support needs living with a life limiting illness. This position is a shift work role, which includes the need to work weekends and nights with the ability to cover leave within a 24/7 roster.
An initiative of Palliative Care ACT, and unique to Canberra, Leo’s Place is an innovative respite service offering both day and overnight stays for people with life-limiting illnesses and their carers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Leo’s Place helps individuals diagnosed with a life-limiting illness remain at home for as long as possible by providing better support to the family members and loved ones who care for them.
Set in a warm, home-like environment, Leo’s Place feels much like an Airbnb — but with the added benefit of compassionate, personalised care. It is a safe and welcoming space designed to provide rest, connection, and relief during challenging times.
