Part-Time Childcare Cook/Educator (Hybrid Role)

Smart Cookies Early Learning Centre is a family-owned and operated service with over 10 years of experience in the early childhood sector. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality education and care for children aged 9 months to 6 years, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.

We are currently seeking a passionate and reliable Cook/Educator to join our team in a permanent part-time hybrid role. This unique opportunity involves preparing nutritious meals for the children during part of the day and working in the rooms as an educator for the remainder.

This role is ideal for someone seeking a balanced work/life schedule and can be offered as a full-time position for the right candidate.

About The Role

Prepare and serve lunch and afternoon tea in line with a 4-week rotating menu

Maintain a high standard of food safety and hygiene at all times

Cater to dietary requirements, including allergies and cultural restrictions

Order and manage food supplies within the centre’s allocated budget

Collaborate and communicate effectively with children, families, and team members

Work as an educator in the rooms as needed, including covering breaks

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (essential)

Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or relevant qualifications in nutrition/hospitality

First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Good time management and the ability to work independently

Previous experience in a similar childcare cook or educator role

Position Details

Permanent part-time: Monday to Friday, minimum 5 hours per day

Option to extend to full-time hours for the right candidate
