Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children? Penrith City Council is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our casual childcare pool across a variety of roles in our Childcare Services.
We’re currently recruiting for:
- Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs)
- Childcare Assistants (Certificate III)
- Childcare Aides
- Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) Educators
Whether you're starting your career or bringing years of experience, we have casual opportunities available across our Long Day Care, Preschool, Vacation Care, and Before & After School Care services.
What You'll Do:
- Create nurturing, engaging environments for children aged 0–12 years
- Support educational leaders in delivering high-quality programs
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and the community
- Maintain accurate records of children’s development and wellbeing
What We’re Looking For:
Depending on the role, we’re seeking candidates with:
- Relevant qualifications (Certificate III, Diploma, or Degree in Early Childhood Education)
- Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid Certificate including Asthma, Anaphylaxis & CPR (HLTAID012 or equivalent)
- Passion for early childhood development and education
- Availability between 6:30am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday
Please note: Casual shifts may be offered on short notice — including the morning of or the day prior — and can include block shifts when available. We are seeking applicants who are comfortable with flexible, on-call work and interested in being part of our casual pool.
As part of the recruitment process, we will be holding a Group Assessment centre on Wednesday, 27 August 2025. Successful applicants will be asked to attend either a morning session commencing at 9am or an afternoon session commencing at 3pm.

- Competitive casual hourly rates:Childcare Assistants and OSHC Educators: $30.90 – $35.76, Diploma-Qualified Educators: $35.24 – $40.80, Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs): $45.79 – $53.00 plus 12% superannuation and 25% casual loading

Important Information:
This is a child-related position under NSW Child Protection laws. Applicants must provide a valid WWCC number and be either an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
