Our client is a well-established and highly regarded supplier of steel and aluminium products, servicing the construction, manufacturing, and engineering sectors across Victoria. Known for their fast turnarounds, reliable supply, and loyal customer base, they are now seeking a proven sales professional to take ownership of an existing portfolio and drive new business growth. They are seeking someone who works independently and can work autonomously.

Ideally, we are after a candidate with on the road experience in the steel or aluminium industries, however, if you are currently working in either of those industries in internal sales, this could be your opportunity to get on the road. Why not fast track your career!!

About the Role:

This is a dynamic, on-the-road and in-office role that requires a confident, self-driven sales professional who understands steel, aluminium, or related industrial materials. You’ll be working closely with builders, fabricators, manufacturers, and project managers, building relationships, quoting jobs, and ensuring customers get the right product, on time, every time.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and grow an existing portfolio of clients across the Melbourne metro and regional VIC

Identify and secure new business opportunities within construction, fabrication, and related industries

Prepare accurate and timely quotes, negotiate pricing and close deals

Provide technical support and product knowledge to clients

Liaise closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and service excellence

Track pipeline activity and sales performance through CRM and reporting tools

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in external or internal sales, ideally in steel, aluminium, building materials, or similar

Solid understanding of fabrication, manufacturing, or construction processes

Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills

Commercially astute and target-driven with a hands-on approach

Reliable, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Salay and Benefits

Base $80k-$100k | 12% Super | Car Allowance | Bonus
