Are you a detail-oriented Financial Accountant looking to take the next step in your career with a leading global organisation?

Sodexo is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our collaborative team at our Melbourne Support Centre. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you'll play a vital role in delivering accurate monthly reports and financial statements that inform high-level decision-making.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As part of a high-performing finance team, your key responsibilities will include:

Tax & Compliance

Prepare and submit FBT, BAS, NZ GST, TPAR, and other tax lodgments

Support income tax return preparation and compliance processes

Intercompany Transactions

Manage AR/AP for intercompany accounts, statements, and Treasury settlements

Reconcile intercompany balances and complete month-end FX adjustments

Month-End Reporting & Cost Management

Perform monthly close activities, including adjustments and accruals

Provide cost analysis and reporting to ensure financial accuracy

Leased Asset Accounting

Maintain lease accounting software and reconcile IFRS16 entries

Payroll Accounting

Post monthly and fortnightly payroll journals and reconcile Workers' Compensation

Audit & Projects

Support internal and external audits, financial statement prep, and tax provision reporting

Assist in managing offshore teams and ad hoc financial projects

Balance Sheet Management

Ensure all general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations are accurate and up to date

What You’ll Bring:

✅ bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
✅ CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)
✅ 5+ years of relevant financial accounting experience
✅ Strong knowledge of IFRS and Australian tax legislation
✅ Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and intermediate Excel skills
✅ Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise tasks, and solve complex problems
