The opportunity

We are actively recruiting for a Farmhand to join our Almond team at Attis Farm on a full-time basis, in Yinkanie, South Australia.

Responsibilities

Irrigation maintenance including inspecting, repairing existing drip irrigation lines, valves, filter maintenance and fertigation.

Assist in ongoing weed management including spot spraying.

General tree care including pruning, staking, tree guard maintenance and re-tie trees to stakes.

Provide assistance to contractors.

Maintain farm hygiene and cleanliness; and

Undertake all other duties as required or directed from time to time.

The position requires a diverse range of basic skills across the farm, ranging from irrigation, operating machinery, pruning, spraying and maintaining the farm and associated equipment. The role involves substantial outdoor work, in all weather conditions, the handling of chemicals and some lifting.

What we are looking for

Driver’s license (minimum C class)

A can-do attitude

Previous experience in agriculture (preferred)

Previous experience with irrigation systems (desirable)

ChemCert (or equivalent) (desirable but not essential)
