Our State-of-the-art facility in Smeaton Grange, Sout-West Sydney is now fully completed and operational. We are in the exciting final phase of commissioning and testing our brand-new manufacturing equipment. With our TGA license already approved and pending formal issuance, we're preparing to launch our very first and best commercial batch - making a major milestone in our mission to become one of Australia's leading complementary medicine manufactures.

The Production Operator will report directly to the Production Manager and is responsible both to operate and maintain uptime of the machines. As manufacturing scales and we continue to add to our Production team, there are career growth opportunities for a motivated high achiever.

This is an on-site role in Smeaton Grange. The salary will be negotiated inside the posted range based on your experience and seniority level.

The Responsibilities

Help build up the Exergy facility and machinery system;

Install, operate, clean, and maintain/service/fix equipment and machinery;

Ensure all appropriate qualifications and maintenance activities for the facility and equipment are completed before the production activities commence;

Actively participate in the quality strategy for the manufacturing and equipment so that we can deliver high quality products;

Ensure all products are dispensed, manufactured and packaged to spec as per agreed production schedule

BMRs (batch manufacturing record), BPRs (batch packaging record) and related documentation is accurately recorded in a timely manner

Ensure production operators adherence to safety and cGMP protocols;

Proactively identify and implement improvement after discussion with Production Manager to improve production engagement, efficiencies, capability and capacity;

Ensure prompt actions to escalate any issues identified during manufacturing process to Production Manager;

Participate in a wide range of machinery and building maintenance repairs and services;

Assist in machine, equipment, production consumables sourcing, communicating with supplier and external contractor as required;

Participate in ongoing inspections and maintenance of building facility, compressed air system, trade wastewater system, HVAC system, dust extraction system;

Maintain and control the inventory of production tools, parts or as assigned;

Actively prepare for and participate in audit events

Participate in completing tasks associated with the Preventive Maintenance Program;

Assist in overseeing work performed by external contractors;

Assist in project management as assigned.

The Technical Skills and Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Process Engineering, Science or equivalent;

Clean room manufacturing experience

Ideally five (5) years experience as a machine operator in a pharmaceutical or complementary medicine manufacturing facility;

Demonstrated knowledge of cGMP and PIC/s;

Physical requirements:

the ability to lift independently up to 25kg repetitively;

ability to see well (naturally or with correction);

ability to stand/walk for long periods;

ability to stoop, kneel/squat, and climb up/down ladders safely.

Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen with the current right to work in Australia.

Would be nice if: experience as a supervisor or team leader of machine operators.

Highly desirable experience:

Solid dosages expertise in tablet press, hard encapsulation, coating and dry granulation from complementary medicine manufacturer;

Experience in auger powder packaging and counter packaging.
