Seeking Rehabilitation Counsellor Contractor for Person-Centred, Collaborative Work
Are you a Rehabilitation Counsellor currently undertaking contracting work?
Are you curious about a different way of working?
Reframe works exclusively within NDIS and Lifetime Care schemes and is seeking to engage a new contractor to deliver vocational services (Lifetime Care) and employment-related assessment and counselling (NDIS work).
Who We Are:
A dedicated team of Rehabilitation Counsellors, Careers Counsellors, and Employment Services Specialists. We help our clients explore their work, study, or volunteering pathways. Our approach focuses on assisting clients to regain hope regarding their careers by building capacity for activities that are meaningful to them.
Who We Serve:
NDIS Participants with congenital or acquired disabilities, injuries, and chronic health conditions
Lifetime Care participants following spinal cord injury and/or traumatic brain injury as a result of NSW road accidents.
How We Work:
Collaborating with participants’ therapy teams, disability employment providers, training organisations, and community programs to deliver comprehensive support - because we’re stronger together!
Utilising a variety of vocational counselling and career coaching tools, including qualitative methods (e.g., card sorts) and quantitative assessments (e.g., psychometric tests)
Integrating rehabilitation counselling expertise with career development theory and practice
Embracing a true biopsychosocial and holistic approach, without the need for strict adherence to pre-injury salary benchmarks or labour market compliance requirements (Please note: NDIS and Lifetime Care participants are referred to Reframe on a voluntary basis)
Connecting with local employers and other organisations to generate opportunities for our clients to build capacity.
The Role:
This role involves implementing vocational counselling and assessment processes to work collaboratively with participants, exploring both pre-vocational and vocational pathways through a tailored, person-centred approach.
Pre-vocational pathways focus on building participants’ capacity and employability skills through activities such as volunteering, work experience, job shadowing, foundational courses, routine management, and executive functioning supports. Vocational pathways may include tertiary study, paid employment (finding and maintaining a job), or self-employment. Throughout, ongoing collaboration with participants’ families and therapists is essential to ensure a cohesive support system that helps manage personal, environmental, and systemic challenges.
Reframe Careers will provide you with support to understand the processes involved in these schemes (the WHAT!). You will then have the flexibility to draw on your experience (the HOW!) in supporting our clients.
All contractors are invited to participate in monthly group supervision sessions, providing a structured framework to help meet your ASORC CPD points for the year.
Delivery:
Supports and services are delivered online or via meetings with participants in Sydney Metro.
Hourly Rate:
$110+ per hour (billable work), inclusive of superannuation. Contractor Remuneration will be discussed at the interview.
What You Need:
Qualifications in Rehabilitation Counselling and full membership with ASORC
2+ years experience in vocational/occupational rehabilitation within insurance schemes (e.g., Workers Insurance, Comcare, Life Insurance, DVA, CTP)
Ability to build genuine relationships with participants and stakeholders
Self-management skills with complex problem-solving and decision-making abilities; confident to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong time management and organisational skills (or familiarity with digital tools that support these)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and accurate case management for billing and documentation
A driver’s licence, access to your own vehicle, NSW Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain) are essential. The ability to travel within Sydney Metro to meet clients face-to-face is also required.
It’s a Bonus if You Have:
Experience providing vocational supports/services to NDIS and/or Lifetime Care participants
Tertiary qualifications in Career Development (Cert IV or Graduate Certificate)
Experience working with people following severe injuries in vocational or clinical settings
Ability to travel to Hills District and Western Sydney (including Penrith) areas
What Makes a Great Team? A Diverse Team!
