About Us

We are seeking a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a contractor at the Menzies Anxiety Centre. In particular, we are looking for a clinician to provide telehealth-only appointments, with the freedom to work remotely.

The Menzies Anxiety Centre was established to meet the growing demand for treatment for death anxiety (i.e., a fear of death or dying). We are uniquely placed to offer psychological assessment and treatment to the growing number of clients seeking support for death anxiety and related conditions (e.g., OCD, health anxiety, specific phobias, PTSD, panic disorder). In addition to our focus on anxiety, we also offer general mental health services for other conditions, and receive a steady stream of varied referrals.

We are currently seeking a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist who is interested in death anxiety and existential issues, in addition to anxiety-related disorders.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, dedicated, and able to work independently.

We are seeking a candidate who is available anywhere from 2 to 5 days a week as a contractor, depending on their preferred number of days. We are ideally looking for a psychologist who is available to offer appointments outside of business hours, although this is not essential.

The start date is flexible.

Essential criteria

Registration with AHPRA as a psychologist or clinical psychologist

Completed either a Master or Doctorate of Clinical Psychology

Registered Medicare provider (or eligible to apply)

Strong grounding in evidence-based practice, including competence with using CBT to address mood and anxiety-related disorders

Interest in death anxiety and existential issues

Minimum 1 year experience in private practice

Reliable internet connection and ability to use telehealth platforms

Desirable criteria

Previous experience working independently in a private practice setting

Availability to offer after hours appointments
