REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGISTS – CORRECTIONS AND MENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENTS

We are currently seeking multiple Registered Psychologists for locum positions to work in corrective services in Queensland. Initial 3-month contracts available with the opportunity to extend.

About the Role:

• Perform initial mental health assessments on incoming detainees.
• Complete risk assessments of harm to self or others, including acute and chronic risk.
• Needs and Psychosocial assessments of prisoners needs, assisting in identifying rehabilitation needs.
• Report writing for parole hearings, investigations and for on-going support within the post release network.
• Opportunity to work in in high and low security sites, and in Male and Female Prisons.

Benefits:

• Excellent hourly rate $100p/h + Super – paid hourly, not per client seen.
• Fully funded travel and accommodation if required.
• Ideally full time, but part time may be considered, depending on location.
• 3 month contracts with high chance of extensions if both parties happy.
• Various Locations available inkling Townsville, Rockhampton,

Selection Criteria

• General registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist
• Forensic, clinical, counselling, or other endorsements highly regarded.
• Ability to pass enhanced security and criminal record check.
• Experience in Adult Mental health and mental state assessment a must.
• Previous experience working in corrections or the forensics space desirable, but not required.
