We are looking for a detail-oriented Health and Wellness Researcher with some commercial acumen to lead and support research initiatives focused on testing and validating body composition formulas tailored to age and gender. This includes designing and conducting validation tests on physiological metrics including blood pressure, heart rate variability, body composition, and related health indicators.

This role will contribute to improving personalised health assessment tools and methodologies.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s or PhD in Health Sciences, Human Physiology, Nutrition, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of body composition assessment techniques (e.g., DEXA, BIA, skinfolds, anthropometry)
  • Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of how age and gender impact body composition
  • Hands-on experience with physiological measurement devices and methods (e.g., ECG, sphygmomanometer, DEXA, BIA, wearables)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities, with the ability to deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Understanding and ensuring that the research imperatives & objectives of your role remain directly linked to the commercial objectives of the organisation; including but not limited to agreed timelines, budgets and testing standards

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on existing body composition assessment methods and formulas.
  • Plan, design, and execute validation studies for devices and protocols measuring vitals and wellness indicators, including body composition.
  • Perform statistical analyses to assess the accuracy, repeatability, and reliability of measurement tools and methods compared to gold-standard or reference methods.
  • Review and interpret scientific literature relevant to physiological monitoring and validation methodologies.
  • Assist in the development of product offerings where body composition formulas are applied in practical settings.
  • Present research findings through reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

Personal Key Attributes:

You are already skilled and excellent professionally, but we also need you to have the following personal attributes:

  • An owner mentality
  • An open and creative mind, ‘can’t be done’ is not something you typically say
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills by testing, comparing, and optimizing multiple methodologies to determine the most effective approach
  • An amazing can-do attitude, you find a way, always have
  • Resilience, things will go wrong, your ability to keep the show moving is paramount
  • Detail, you love detail, you believe the devil ‘is in the detail’
  • Challenges are great, you accept that challenges help us grow. “Bring 'em on!”

In essence this job will be for those who proactively seek out, assess, and implement evidence-based solutions from scientific literature, iterating as needed to results that align with business goals. You’re someone who can thrive in an environment that requires experimentation with various strategies and techniques, and can quickly identify and refine those that deliver the best outcomes.

Our experience is not purely digital. You know that challenges are not barriers. We are developing exciting products in-house, and you will be part of the team that will shape the experience of our first clients.
