Your Opportunity
As an experienced Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse, you will have experience in the AOD and/or Mental Health sectors and be dedicated to the “whole person” care approach.
Our nurses work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Treatment Facilitators, Support Workers and external stakeholders, so being a team player with the ability to develop and maintain relationships is essential.
We are seeking someone for a casual Nurse position at Mirikai.
What we are looking for
Joining our team at Gold Coast will offer you the opportunity to develop a broad skill set across AOD and Mental Health, with duties covering residential services. Your clinical duties will include:
- Clinical assessments and effective nursing interventions including GP referrals and liaising with pharmacists
- Providing intake support and transition of clients into the Residential service including assessment and development of care and transition plans
- Medication management including documentation and governance
- Managing regular Nurse Clinics including client check-ups and medication review
- Ability to deliver group sessions, engage clients in counselling conversations and retain them in treatment
- We operate under the Aged Care legislation so an understanding of this model would be beneficial
You will need to have a tertiary qualification in Nursing and hold current AHPRA registration.
Coupled with your clinical skill set, you will also have:
- An understanding of how Residential Care works and be comfortable in this environment, which can include challenging situations
- Excellent rapport building skills – you’ll be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, so strong working relationships are important
- A genuine dedication to helping people to reduce their substance use and improve their life journey
- A flexible, open, and engaging approach – you’ll be working with a range of clients with differing needs and complexities
- Strong communication skills, ability to self-manage and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- An inclusive attitude and a background working with diverse groups including CALD, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Good computer skills and ability to manage administrative tasks, including adding documentation to our CRM (HIVE) and medical system (HELIX)
You’ll also resonate with our values, and evidence them in your day to day working life:
- We are humble, human, and full of hope
- We show up and share
- We ask “Why not” and “What’s next?”
- We leave a positive wake
