About the Role
You will manage the provision of accurate, high-quality financial information pertaining to the Colleges’ financials and ensure that information is compliant with both internal and external accounting and statutory reporting requirements. The candidate works closely with the external auditors and is expected to contribute to the supporting the running of the College and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledger.
Preparation of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow statements for management and Board.
Preparation of financial forecasts and budgets in consultation with CEO and other relevant staff.
Processing student payments and other relevant payments.
developing and implementing new systems and processes.
Manage of all financial audits and related internal and external audit programs.
Maintain the financial risk management framework.
Monitoring of the management and audit of the internal financial controls, including preparation of financial statements, management of statutory reporting and audit..
Ensure all financial records and statements are in line with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Comply with the colleges Policies and Procedures.
Other duties consistent with the candidate's skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
2+ years in a similar role and organisation
Chartered Accountant qualification or CPA and relevant tertiary degree
Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within the education.
Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements relevant to educational institutions.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Familiarity with government funding models, grants, and compliance reporting.
Proficiency in financial systems and software, preferably Xero.
Demonstrated ability to manage month-end and year-end processes, including audit preparation.
Experience in managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Knowledge of procurement and asset management practices in an educational context.
