The Management Accountant is a key member of The Unmarked Group’s global finance function, responsible for overseeing both internal financial management and the leadership of the cross-border Bookkeeping & Accounting division. This position plays a central role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with local and international tax requirements, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making across all business units.
Internally, the Management Accountant supports the Head of Finance & Operations in managing financial activities across the Group’s diverse and globally distributed operations, which is headquartered in Australia with offices in USA, EU, and China. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, financial risk management, and process optimisation across all business units.
The position requires strong technical expertise, sound commercial acumen, leadership capabilities, and a proactive and entrepreneurial approach to financial operations and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Alongside the Head of Finance & Operations, oversee the financial operations across multiple business divisions globally in Australia USA, EU and China
Ensure compliance with financial reporting and taxation requirements globally
Lead the development of forward-looking financial models and budgeting frameworks. Provide strategic financial insights to guide executive decision-making and long-term planning.
Manage financial compliance and reporting across multi-jurisdictional entities, including deep understanding of Australia, the USA, the EU, and China regulations and standards
due to cross-border operations, and ensure adherence to local tax regulations and cross-border accounting standards.
Work closely with external tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
Design and implement internal financial control systems to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards. Lead financial risk assessments and initiate corrective actions to mitigate exposure.
Provide financial advice and recommendations to senior Leadership to drive business performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial projects and process improvements.
Identify and implement process automation and technological improvements to enhance financial operations.
Oversee and mentor both local and offshore finance teams, including the cross-border Bookkeeping & Accounting division. Provide technical leadership, coaching, and performance management to ensure excellence in service delivery.
Collaborate with Leadership to develop and implement service strategies.
Oversee month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes and leverage technology to improve service delivery.
Conduct in-depth profitability and cost-centre analysis across business units. Prepare internal reports to support pricing strategies, capital allocation, and operational efficiency improvements.
Administer financial systems including NetSuite and Xero to optimise financial workflows. Enhance reporting accuracy and data integrity through system integration and automation initiatives.
Examining operating costs and organisational income
Preparing budget reports and forecasting future financial performance
Developing and controlling financial systems
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential
CPA/CA membership or eligibility is desirable or alternatively at least 4 years experience in a global business environment across Australia. USA, EU and China.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Management Accounting environment.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software, particularly Netsuite
Key Competencies:
Excellent client relationship management and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience and competence in financial compliance and reporting across multi-jurisdictional entities, including Australia, USA, EU, and China
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proven leadership and team management experience (managing offshore accounting teams highly desirable)
Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation and growth.
Strong time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
