THE COMPANY

Our client provide certification to building companies who specialise in residential construction. Their mission is to provide certainty to their clients by educating and ensuring they build high quality and compliant homes.

THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to support our Building Surveyors/Certifiers by managing the building approval process from start to end. You will support the running of a small, but busy office as well as be responsible to fulfill other duties that will keep you challenged and engaged. You will report directly to the Director.

DUTIES

  • Serve as the eyes and ears of the office.
  • Maintain the workflow of the building approval process from start to finish.
  • Liaise with the team, our clients and local council authority.
  • Organise and manage the inspection calendar.
  • Pre-check building documents and certificates before handing over to the Certifiers to issue approval and compliance certificates.
  • Prepare quotes and proposal for potential clients.
  • Create and lodge of mandatory government forms to council.
  • Maintain the office organisation and make sure everything is running smoothly.
  • Answer incoming calls.
  • Show initiative by improving current processes and procedures and ensuring the procedures manual is up to date.
  • Go above and beyond to help the team where needed; you don’t just do the bare minimum.
  • Provide creative support to our social media.
  • Other duties as required as our company grows.
  • Most importantly, proactively work in alignment with and displaying our company values and mission, daily.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have knowledge of the building industry and process, including and understanding construction methodology.
  • You have proven administrative experience in the construction industry.
  • You are keen to be a part of a growing company, with the opportunity for your position to grow and expand as well.
  • You do the right thing. Period.
  • You have a high attention to detail and a “make it happen” attitude.
  • You value having fun, but get the job done.
  • You have a strong technical writing ability for reports, emails and the like.
  • You’re confident and kind when communicating with clients and team members.
