About the Role
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in coordinating and overseeing the delivery of high-quality mental health care within your unit. Drawing on your advanced clinical knowledge and experience, you will lead and support a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and positive outcomes for consumers. This role is essential to maintaining safe, effective, and person-centred care aligned with both the National Mental Health Policy and SA Health’s vision and values.
You will be responsible for line management, team development, and performance improvement—driving a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. With a focus on quality and safety, you will identify and address gaps between policy and practice, support less experienced staff, and ensure care is delivered in line with the Department of Health and Aged Care’s quality framework. About You
You are a compassionate and dynamic mental health nursing professional with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, leadership, and person-centred care. Your qualifications, experience, and personal attributes position you as a confident leader who can drive change, support staff development, and improve consumer outcomes.
Registered Nurse with a mental health qualification and current practice certificate
Proven leadership and communication skills in complex, multidisciplinary settings
Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive innovation and engage consumers
In-depth knowledge of legislation, quality standards, and recovery-focused care
