Join Total Rockbreaking Solution (TRS), the top provider of excavator and skid steer attachments, fixed rockbreaker boom systems, and automation solutions for the WA mining and construction industry. We're looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview:

The primary role for this position is to provide engineering and technical support to one of our key customers, working at both TRS and also as an embedded resource at our client’s Perth engineering office.

Coordinating with our in-house engineering team, you will be the initial point of contact for all technical queries from the client, providing feedback to our design office and working with our designers and site service personnel to implement upgrades and improvements where required.

The role will require 24 hours per week, with 8 hours at TRS in Kewdale and 16 hours per week at our client’s offices. The hours can be completed as 3 x 8 hours days per week or can be spread over 5-days to suit school hours or other requirements to suit the applicant.

Key Responsibilities:

Offer technical advice and engineering support to our key hydraulic boom system customer, whether it's remotely or on-site.

Collaborate with our in-house engineers and designers to provide technical support for the safe and efficient introduction of new technologies at client sites.

Proactively seek feedback from customers to identify opportunities for improvement.

Work closely with the Site Service Manager and Senior Design Engineer on design tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely completion.

Assess equipment during re-builds alongside the site service team, suggesting cost-effective improvements to designers.

Continuously evaluate and refine systems and methods to ensure high-quality service reports and efficient service delivery.

Attend various meetings such as Sales, Engineering, and Project meetings as required.

Execute design activities while adhering to company guidelines, relevant standards, and specifications.

Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of standards and procedures under the guidance of the Senior Design Engineer or Site Service Manager.

Assist in the creation, review, and enhancement of technical documentation including manuals, work-packs, commissioning procedures, and training materials.

Provide technical advice or training to various departments including Project Management, Sales, Estimating, and Workshop to ensure adherence to design requirements.

Coordinate and attend monthly client update meetings

Identify and recommend product or documentation improvements, initiating Engineering Change Requests as necessary.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering design or project engineering within the mining or heavy industry sector.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Desirable:

Experience in hydraulic equipment design and manufacture.

Background in Reliability Engineering.

Adhere to workplace procedures and instructions to maintain good OHS practice.

Identify and report unsafe working conditions promptly.

Utilise personal protective equipment as required.

Report any injuries, hazards, or illnesses to the supervisor promptly.

Maintain professional and timely interactions with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.

Strive for 'right first time' execution in all tasks.

Contribute to the collective skills and knowledge of the workshop team through information sharing and support.

Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations as well as TRS procedures and policies.
