The East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) comprises an extensive hospital and health service network that aims to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of more than 670,000 Western Australians in its catchment area. Our hospital network works together to provide a combination of tertiary, secondary and specialist health care services including emergency and critical care, state trauma, elective and emergency surgery, general medical, mental health, inpatient and outpatient services, aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and women’s, children’s and neonates services.

Position Profile:

The Senior Organisational Development Consultant (DEI -Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) position works collaboratively across the organisation and within the People and Culture team to develop and implement organisational development (OD) strategies, plans, policies and initiatives across the East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) to improve organisational culture, capability and performance and assure compliance with legislative requirements.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Development and implementation of plans and frameworks, such as, Disability Access and Inclusion Plan, Multicultural Action Plan and other DEI related plans, framework and action plans.
  • Implementation and governance of DEI employee network and allyship groups to enable feedback and insights from staff with lived experience.
  • Implementation of communication plans and coordination of events for DEI significant days.
  • Implementing and enhancing employment and career pathways to enhance our workforce profile of underrepresented groups.
  • Preparation of progress reporting for several DEI related plans to relevant governing bodies.
Qualification and Experience:
  • Substantial experience in leading the development and implementation of workforce policy and processes and organisational development programs and projects, ideally within a large complex organisation.
  • Experience addressing contemporary workforce issues and trends regarding strategic human resource management, understanding the implications and impact on organisations and staff.
  • High level conceptual, research and problem-solving skills, with experience in workforce strategy and/or policy formulation.
  • High level interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills, including ability to prepare complex reports and plans; and strong stakeholder relations and influencing skills across all levels.
  • Well-developed project leadership and management skills, with ability to meet deadlines and manage risk.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
