The opportunity

Due to significant growth, we are seeking a full-time Senior Consultant to join our Perth team to assist in delivering consulting assignments throughout Australia and overseas.

This role would be primarily located in Perth, but travel to client sites within WA, interstate (and potentially overseas), will be required. We have flexible working arrangements, so working-from-home arrangements are available. To support our team-based culture and enhance learning and growth opportunities, we encourage our staff to work at least three days a week in our office in South Perth.

This role will suit someone with five or more years of experience in Maintenance and Reliability Engineering and/or Asset Management.

In the role, you will apply your knowledge and technical skills to evaluate the processes and systems that our clients use to manage their assets, including their maintenance management and reliability improvement processes.

You will also use that knowledge and your skills to design improved Maintenance, Reliability and Asset Management processes.

However, we are looking for someone with more than just the required technical skills. You should be able to demonstrate that you have the ambition, energy, willingness and capability to develop the commercial and interpersonal skills needed to act as a trusted advisor and agent of change to assist our clients to implement those improved processes and to build lasting relationships with our clients.

We are looking for someone that can make a measurable difference to our clients' Asset Management performance.

We will support you in achieving this goal through formal training, mentoring, and on-the-job coaching.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Your primary duties will involve performing consulting and training assignments relating to asset management, maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives.

Conducting asset management, maintenance and reliability reviews, audits and gap assessments

Developing, documenting and implementing improved asset management systems and business processes. This could include, for example, assisting clients to:

Develop strategic asset management plans and asset management plans

Develop and implementing improved asset management processes and practices

Understand and enhance asset management competence within their organisations

Achieve alignment and/or certification against the requirements of ISO 55001

Developing, documenting and implementing improved maintenance and reliability systems and business processes. This could include, for example, assisting clients to:

Improve their maintenance planning and scheduling processes and practices

Develop and improve their processes for improving equipment reliability

Coaching and training others to implement improved maintenance management and reliability engineering processes and practices

Applying reliability engineering principles and tools to maximise equipment productivity

Developing and delivering training in asset management, maintenance and/or reliability

Building and maintaining client relationships

Developing proposals for new projects

Project managing and supervising the work of other consultants

Liaising with clients and potential clients to uncover potential leads and sales opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience - Mandatory Requirements:

An undergraduate degree or higher in a technical (such as engineering), asset management or management related field

A minimum of five years’ experience in an asset management, maintenance or reliability engineering role in asset-intensive organisations

Demonstrated experience with the successful implementation of measurable improvements in asset management, maintenance and/or reliability performance

Familiarity with ISO 55001 and its application in practice

The capability to take the initiative and work independently when required

Highly developed people skills with the ability to relate well to client staff and teammates

Strong communication skills with the ability to produce high quality reports and presentations

Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications

Permanent rights to work in Australia

Capability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

Postgraduate qualifications in maintenance, reliability, business or asset management

CAMA qualifications (highly desired), an IAM Certificate qualification in Asset Management or equivalent

Experience in the use of reliability modelling software

The capability to develop applications and dashboards using PowerBI, SQL, Python, Visual Basic or equivalent

Experience in the application of Artificial Intelligence in a business context

Previous consulting experience

Previous line management/supervisory experience

Some commercial acumen – Sales, marketing and finance.
