The Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the Melbourne construction division. This role will see you taking charge of a major residential build in Bentleigh, responsible for overseeing all aspects of site delivery from start to finish. The project is divided into two key phases—an initial rollout of 15 homes, followed by a semi-attached, medium-density build. Spanning a single location and extending over two years, construction is due to commence in approximately four weeks.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you’ll be expected to lead and manage on-site activity with a focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery. Core duties include:

• Supervising site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain workflow and productivity
• Managing daily operations to ensure adherence to schedules and milestones
• Building collaborative relationships with internal teams, contractors, and clients
• Identifying any site issues or defects early and taking corrective action, including withholding payments as needed
• Ensuring construction activities align with the program timelines and quality expectations
• Proactively resolving onsite challenges with minimal disruption
• Tracking and reporting on project progress and communicating with stakeholders
• Guaranteeing that all homes meet quality standards and are handed over defect-free
• Enforcing company protocols and regulatory compliance at all times
• Promoting and maintaining high standards of WHS performance across the site
• Ensuring full compliance with Work Health and Safety legislation

Your Profile

To thrive in this role, you will need to bring:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Supervisor within the medium-density residential sector
• A trade background is preferred but not essential
• Strong understanding of building processes and excellent relationships within the trade and supplier network
• A current White Card and a valid Australian driver’s licence (both required)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach to site issues
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
• A sound understanding of safety requirements and the ability to resolve conflict effectively
