About the Role
They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a large-scale rollout of smart metering technology and its supporting data analytics platform. This permanent role is pivotal in enabling real-time consumption insights, proactive maintenance, and more personalised customer engagement.
You’ll coordinate work across field operations, data engineering, IT security, customer solutions and external vendors to ensure seamless delivery of this strategic initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full project lifecycle of the smart meter deployment program and associated IoT data platforms.
• Manage budgets, timelines, procurement activities, and vendor relationships, ensuring project milestones are achieved.
• Coordinate field installation schedules and ensure minimal disruption to customers and operations.
• Collaborate with data teams to integrate real-time usage data into business intelligence and customer-facing applications.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and data privacy standards unique to the energy sector.
• Engage internal stakeholders across operations, finance, regulatory affairs and customer service to ensure alignment and readiness.
• Provide clear reporting to senior leadership, including risk management plans and program status updates.

About You

• Proven experience delivering infrastructure or technology projects, ideally within energy, water, or other utilities environments.
• Strong understanding of IoT solutions, field service coordination, or data integration platforms.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to bridge the gap between technical teams, operations staff and executives.
• Comfortable working with vendors, drafting SOWs and overseeing contract deliverables.
• Familiarity with project management frameworks (PMBOK, Prince2 or Agile) and tools such as MS Project or JIRA.
• Knowledge of industry compliance standards (energy or water regulations, data privacy laws) would be highly regarded.
