About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced geologist with a specialisation in natural hydrogen to join our Perth team at Gold Hydrogen Limited. The successful candidate will lead technical workflows to evaluate and prioritise application areas and support early-stage exploration activities across our tenements. This role is critical in accelerating our work program towards permit approvals and the drilling of hydrogen exploration wells.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute regional hydrogen prospectivity mapping with a focus on South Australia.

Conduct technical evaluations to identify and prioritise application areas with high hydrogen potential to progress toward granted status.

Planning and overseeing field and laboratory investigations, including aerial, ground, and borehole surveys.

Analysing geological samples, rock cores, and cuttings through various techniques such as mechanical, electronic, optical, and chemical methods to identify the presence of valuable resources.

Working alongside Mining Engineers, Metallurgists, and other specialists to carry out initial evaluations of sites potentially rich in petroleum, minerals, or natural gas.

Researching and interpreting seismic wave data to better understand the earth’s internal structure and assess geological stability.

Investigating how natural forces like volcanic activity, sedimentation, erosion, and tectonic movements shape the landscape and ocean floor.

Examining fossils and rock layers to trace the development and biology of past life, including the exploration of potential commercial applications.

Conducting research into the composition, history, and development of the earth’s crust and its embedded mineral deposits.

Mapping and analysing fluctuations in the earth’s magnetic and gravitational fields to reveal hidden subsurface features.

Preparing scientific documentation, including laboratory results and formal research publications.

Studying geological stress factors and the origins of seismic activity such as earthquakes.

Design and implement on-ground soil gas and water sampling programs to confirm the presence and quality of natural hydrogen systems.

Supervise and optimise geochemical and geophysical sampling operations, including soil gas, water bore, and rock sample collection.

Perform compositional analysis using gas chromatography and interpret results to inform exploration decisions.

Produce hydrogen-specific geological focus maps to guide project development strategy.

Contribute to the planning of future exploration wells and potentially support drilling programs as a site geologist or company representative.

Collaborate with internal technical teams and external partners, including laboratory providers and field contractors.

Ensure all field operations are conducted safely and in compliance with relevant permits, with traffic management experience considered advantageous.

Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in geology namely natural hydrogen

Qualification equivalent to an Australian Master’s degree or higher qualification in geology, earth sciences, or a related field.

Demonstrated expertise in soil gas sampling, water and rock analysis, and use of gas chromatographs for compositional assessments.

Additional background in engineering and traffic control is highly regarded for planning and safely executing field operations.

Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to work independently in remote field environments.

Why Join Us:
Gold Hydrogen is a pioneering Australian company leading the global search for natural hydrogen and helium. We are at the forefront of clean energy exploration, working on world-class projects like the Ramsay Project in South Australia. Join a passionate and driven team committed to innovation, sustainability, and shaping the future of zero-emission energy.
