Potager – A Kitchen Garden is a destination dining experience nestled in the stunning Carool countryside of Northern NSW. Our restaurant is renowned for our commitment to sustainability, using ingredients sourced directly from our on-site kitchen garden and local producers who share our ethical and environmentally responsible values. We celebrate seasonal produce, nose-to-tail cooking, and strive to provide a truly authentic farm-to-table experience.

We are seeking to immediately fill a full-time, permanent Chef position at our restaurant. The successful applicant will have experience working in Michelin-level establishments and demonstrate a genuine passion for creating innovative dishes using fresh, locally grown ingredients—many of which are sourced from our own farm.

Position Title: Head Chef
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $77,000 – $87,000 per annum + superannuation
Location: 502 Carool Road, Carool NSW 2486

Duties and Responsibilities:
As our Chef, your role will include, but not be limited to:

Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a high standard with creativity and care

Developing seasonal menus that reflect our sustainable and garden-to-plate ethos

Ensuring an exceptional dining experience through consistent quality and presentation

Monitoring inventory, ensuring correct stock rotation, and minimising waste

Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff on ingredient handling and techniques

Contributing to the hiring and development of kitchen staff

Managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times


Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role

Proven background working in Michelin-star or equivalent high-end establishments

Passion for sustainability and experience working with local or farm-grown produce

Ability to lead a kitchen team and maintain composure under pressure

Strong organisational and communication skills

Commitment to food safety and hygiene practices
