About the role
An exciting permanent full-time leadership position is available, working as the Design Coordinator in the Infrastructure Grants and Projects team.
In this role you will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative design solutions for our public and open spaces that contribute to the achievement of Council's strategic goals and community outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex, high impact design and urban renewal projects that align with Council's strategic vision, ensuring innovative and effective outcomes.
- Lead the development and delivery of place-based design plans and landscape masterplans, incorporating extensive consultation with stakeholders and future asset owners.
- Provide expert advice on site priorities, resource allocation, and risk management, integrating social, economic, and environmental data into strategic planning.
- Foster strong partnerships and lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring coordinated project delivery and alignment with Council polices, legislation and community needs.
About You
We are looking for a leader with:
- Degree level qualification in a built environment field or evidence of exceptional experience in a field such as Project Management, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, Planning or Development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver strategic, design-focused capital projects, driving innovation and achieving measurable outcomes.
- Extensive experience managing consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams on complex and sensitive initiatives.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and change management skills, with a focus on mentoring, collaboration, and guiding innovation in the workplace.
- Expertise in interpreting design plans and integrating social, economic, and environmental data into place-based planning and resource allocation.
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship management, including consultation, partnership building, and customer-focused service delivery.
- Experience in policy development, strategic planning, and performance evaluation, with a commitment to continuous improvement and achieving business results.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $146,512 to $161,317 plus 12% superannuation.
